Frequently Asked Questions
What am I paying for?
Identified companies. When a visitor from a company Alphie can identify lands on your site, that company counts toward your monthly cap, once, however many times its people come back that month. Traffic Alphie can't or isn't allowed to identify -- bots, visitors who decline your consent banner, visitors in countries where Alphie waits for consent and doesn't get it -- costs you nothing.
How does the free plan work?
Free is a plan: your first 100 identified companies, no credit card. Not 14 days: 100 companies. If you get 1,000 visitors a month that's about a month; if you get 100, it's a few months. Either way you see the same amount of product before you pay. Outbound runs in preview on Free: Alphie finds the buyer contacts and writes the emails, and they wait in your queue until you pick a plan, so you see exactly what you'd be sending before you pay for it. We email you at 75 and at 100, then pause identification and ask you to pick a plan. Companies you've already identified stay in your dashboard.
If I pick a paid plan, when do I start paying?
At your 101st identified company. Every plan starts with the same 100 identified companies free, and on a paid plan everything in that plan works from day one, including outbound that actually sends. We email you at 75 so the first charge is never a surprise. Once billing starts, your plan's monthly allowance counts from zero. Cancel before company 101 and you pay nothing.
How do I know which plan I need?
Run Free. By the time you've used 100 companies you'll see your monthly rate in the dashboard and the right plan is obvious. The visitor numbers on each plan are a guide for estimating before you start; they aren't a cap.
Do you identify people or companies?
Companies. Alphie resolves the company a visitor comes from and scores it against your ICP; it doesn't tell you who the person is. Contacts for outbound come from the identified company's buying roles, not from the visit.
Where does identification work?
Everywhere except China, Russia and sanctioned countries. In some countries, Alphie identifies a visitor's company only after they accept your consent banner. The country rules are in our DPA.
What happens if I go over my plan?
Nothing that month. If you're over the cap two months in a row we'll email you and move you to the next plan from the following month. There's no overage charge.
Does Free include outbound?
In preview. When an identified company leaves without booking, Alphie finds the buyer contacts there and drafts the emails, exactly as it does on a paid plan. On Free they wait in your queue instead of going out. Pick a plan and the queue sends.
Do I need a card to start?
Not for Free. Free gives you your first 100 identified companies with no card. If you pick a paid plan, we take a card at signup and charge nothing until Alphie identifies your 101st company. Either way, nothing you've set up is lost when you move between plans.
How is an "identified company" counted?
Once per company per calendar month, the first time Alphie identifies a visitor from it. Ten people from the same company in one month is one identified company. Our script never loads for visitors who decline your consent banner, bots are filtered before identification, and visitors Alphie isn't allowed to identify in their country aren't identified, so none of those count.
Where do the visitor numbers on the plans come from?
They're a guide. On our current customers, identified companies work out to roughly a fifth to a third of US unique visitors, and US traffic is typically a quarter to a half of a B2B site's total. So "up to ~4,000 visitors" is where a site usually lands under 250 companies a month. Alphie identifies companies in other countries too (in some, only after consent), so if much of your traffic is from outside the US you may identify more companies than this suggests. Yours may differ -- Free will tell you.
What's an identification budget?
On Enterprise you choose how many companies a month Alphie should identify, and we bill on that number. Sites with very high traffic often don't need every visitor resolved; a budget lets you spend on the pages and segments that matter.
Do you train on our chat transcripts?
No. Chat content is processed only on your behalf and never used to train models.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes, 16% off any plan. Yearly plans are billed up front.
Alphie is a service provider to its customers. Identification is company-level, follows each country's consent rules, and honors Global Privacy Control.
